Eric Mead: Magic, Science & Mystery

Eric Mead was part of last year's lineup for The Entertainment Gathering held last December in Monterey, California.

EG is the celebration of the American entertainment industry. Since 1984, Richard Saul Wurman has created extraordinary gatherings about learning and understanding. EG is a rich extension of these ideas - a conference that explores the attitude of understanding in music, film, television, radio, technology, advertising, gaming, interactivity and the web

More Helder Guimaries

The more I see of Helder Guimaries, the more I like. As stated in my previous post, Guimaries will be one of the featured performers at this year's Daytona Festival of Magic in November (along with Koysta Kimlet, Pavell, Harry Allen, Chris Capehart, David Garrard & others).

Still in his twenties his work appears effortless and nothing I've seen so far comes off as suspicious. A relaxed and natural manner about himself and his presentations. Because of the language barrier I can't really comment on his scripts but I certainly understand the effect he's presenting.

While there are several events I'd like to attend this year like the Magic & Theory in March, the Golden Gate Gathering in June, and Magic Live in August, it'll be Daytona which will best suit me logistically and economically.

I would attend just to see Guimaries but add Pavell, Kimlet & Capehart plus the fact it's a rather intimate event and only a 90 minute drive from my front door makes it a no-brainer.

2006 FISM Card Champion: Helder Guimaraes

2006 FISM Card Champion Helder Guimareas will be featured at this year's Daytona Festival of Magic scheduled for November 6th - 8th.

Since Daytona is only a 90 minute drive from my home and this year's line up looks especially strong (in my opinion) I plan on attending. Guimareas appears to be a wonderful performer and personality who is heavily influenced by the Spanish school of card magic which has always intrigued me.

Enjoy.
